Job Title: Scrum Master
Start Date: ASAP, 6 month assignment

Position Purpose:
Equity Staffing Group is looking for Scrum Masters to scrum for three of our Scrum teams for our client in downtown Minneapolis. You should have the knowledge that comes from a certification and a track record of successfully applying that knowledge to cultivate world-class teams. Your passion for Agile principles and Scrum is infectious and inspires the teams to engage, inspect, adapt, and continuously improve. You are highly organized with positive energy that fosters a great team dynamic and the strong interactions that define a winning team. You don’t need to know the engineering details, but you do have a great respect for the engineering craft.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Able to put the Agile Manifesto and Scrum Values into action and help the team and organization put them into action
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and oversee adherence to the light weight framework
• Ability to mentor, coach, and train team members and leaders on Agile Principles and Scrum values
• Ensure team alignment on sprint commitments
• Create and facilitate retro exercises generating valuable action items that lead to continuous improvement of Scrum Maturity, Technical practices, collaboration, transparency, inspection, adaption and organizational design.
• Coach the team and organization to help identify impediments and remove them to de-scale the enterprise blockers
• Utilize assessment tools along with retrospectives to measure Scrum Practices

• Scrum team maturity based on Scrum Readiness Assessment, Comprehension and Capability Assessment growth and the teams ability to demonstrate true Scrum practices in action
• Team is able to instill a cross-functional approach to develop and solve complex problems
• Satisfy customer prioritization
• Positive team member feedback and assessments of skills and engagement based on the Scrum Guide
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Certified Scrum Master Certification (Scrum Alliance CSM)
• Experience with LeSS or Scrum at Scale
• 2+ Years as a dedicated Scrum Master


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Understands how to prevent tools from becoming team impediments (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
• Demonstrates application of Root Cause Analysis and systems thinking to solve problems and the ability to resolve conflicts neutrally with effective mediation skills (Active listening, verification techniques, empathy and Socratic methods)
• Communicate clearly and deliver facts based complex messages in a simle manner
• Proven ability to influence others
• Must be able to follow through on issues to resolution
• Actively listens and is an example to seeking to understand method of team communication
• Courageous face-to-face communication and thorough conversation between remote and local team members and stakeholders
• Maintain neutrality in team decision making process, and actively or passively facilitate to assure all team members have weighed in before decisions are finalized and acted upon
• Fosters engagement and close cooperation across all team members encouraging cross-training and team support
• Builds a trusting and safe environment where problems may be raised without fear
