Manager – Quality Assurance

Position Purpose:
The Manager of Quality Assurance is a highly capable technology leader who, as part of the engineering team, is responsible for leading the testing and quality of products and applications as we drive the digitization of business capabilities, with an outcome of delivering on our brand promise objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide deep technical and engineering leadership to the organization
Build, lead, and coach a high performing team of quality automation engineers responsible for Client’s technology products and applications
Define and drive the Quality Assurance manual and automated testing processes at Client
Collaborate with product engineering teams to define, implement and document Client’s test strategy and best practices
Build test plans and test cases that reflect business processes for web applications in order to improve overall system health
Oversees and addresses critical issues, dependencies and risks related to testing
Manages test scenarios and execution of test cases across all testing phases (e.g. SIT, Performance UAT, etc.)
Ensure timely, reliable delivery of new features and enhancements to our products

Key Performance Indicators:
Operational excellence of Sleep Number’s technology products and application platforms
Deliver/enhance applications with high quality and customer delight
Serves as mentor and coach to team members

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience leading individual contributors
3+ years QA experience
Experience identifying test gaps and creating comprehensive test plans
Experience in Retail, Commerce, or Customer Service business domains a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Creative problem solver, with strong analytical skills to optimize test approach and efficiency
Coding/scripting experience, especially automating repeating tasks
Collaborative aptitude and experience working in a fast paced, ever-evolving environment
Technical leadership experience on small to medium scale initiatives is desired
Experience working with agile methodology required
Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills across a variety of audiences, both technical and nontechnical
Working Conditions (if applicable):

Flexible availability required – business needs may require work during non-core business hours
Typical office environment, requiring at least 8 hours standing or sitting
