Pharmacy Care Technician-Columbia, Maryland

Specific Duties:
Consult with and coordinate initial set up and on-going treatment plan for specialty drug patients, including Drug Utilization Reviews, co-pay assistance, ancillary products, scheduling Pharmacist consults and/or RN visits, and liaison with provider offices on labs, refill orders and prior authorizations.
Performs quality checks on all work to assure accuracy of the release, and confidentiality.
Maintains confidentiality, information security and ethical behavior when handling Company and medical records information during transport, storage and disposal. Will not remove medical records information from member sites unless written authorization is provided by leadership.
Attends and participates in required educational training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled and assigned.
Communicates with leaders on an on-going basis, providing information and data as requested including member’s changing needs and requests.
Promptly reports to leadership any customer service concerns and/or any potential HIPAA violations whether actual or perceived.
Informs leaders of site or work difficulties, special project requests from facility, and fluctuating volume in daily workload.
Ability to accurately and efficiently utilize a computer for data input, retrieval of data and all other tasks associated with release of information services and time reporting.

Must have qualifications/experience:
Maryland Pharmacy Technician License
Negative COVID-19 test required before hire as work is performed masked up proximal to other employees in the Pharmacy.
Ability to adapt to change and respond to difficult and challenging situations in a professional manner.
Accepts new assignments willingly to meet business needs.
2-3 years in customer service in a healthcare setting
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite of tools
High School diploma or equivalent
Maintains a current and valid driver’s license and ensures personal automobile insurance is in force and will be maintained, in at least the amounts required by state law, on any automobile or transportation that is used in connection with Company duties.

Shift Start/End Time: 9:30am – 6:00pm
Remote/onsite: Onsite
