Equity Staffing has an exciting IT Project Manager opportunity with an established KC-based transportation company that is a leader in nation-wide LTL shipping services. This opportunity is a great fit for someone with a strong IT infrastructure focused Project Management background in Agile environments!

Project duration: 6 months
52-55/hr. based on experience & health insurance options available!

Primary Responsibilities:
- Position provides project management leadership for complex cross-platform and medium to large scale infrastructure projects from inception to closure.
- Responsibilities include mentoring TIS project coordinators and technical staff in intermediate and advanced project management methodology, tools, processes, and procedures.
- Provides guidance to team members for complex issues, customer service, and technology best practices.
Provide project management leadership for strategic initiatives as assigned, including the development of project plans and coordination of project team activities.
- Contribute to and review the project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, staffing requirements and procedures for accomplishing project goals.
- Translate business requirements into detailed project plans.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Create reports and presentations to management to provide updates, achieve consensus, and obtain key decisions.
- Provide analysis support during the planning phase of the project so that project costs and ROI are clearly understood.
- Create project budgets and consult with the business unit to prepare cost/benefit models.
- Prepare project planning documents including schedule, procurement plans, charters, and scope statements.
- Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, manage issues and devise mitigation and contingency plans.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Manage appropriately selected projects using the Agile Scrum methodology.

- Bachelor's degree in Business area or IT discipline is preferred
- 3+ years of IT infrastructure-focused PM experience
- Experience as a PM in an Agile environment
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office productivity products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Demonstrated analytical, business planning and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated track record of timely meeting of goals and objectives in a corporate setting.
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions and seek alternative approaches to problems.
- Demonstrated ability to create structure and direction when requirements are vague and scope is unclear.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

* Agile, PMP, or Six Sigma Certification is a huge bonus!
