Equity Staffing has new CAD Technician opportunities supporting a large and reputable KS Energy provider! They are interested in hiring CAD Technicians for either KC, Topeka, or Wichita, to support Substation engineering design projects! Great fit for candidates with strong 2D-3D AutoCAD skills and electrical design experience!

$30 - $38/hr. based on experience, health insurance options available!
Duration: 9 months, could go longer
Hybrid work schedule: 2 days onsite, option for 3 days remote
Office locations in Kansas City, Topeka, and Wichita

- The contract CAD Technician provides document management support for Substation Engineering
- Under the guidance of the Document Manager, the contract CAD Technician assists the Engineering Analysts by revising existing drawings from as-built field corrections and, after training, by updating Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing packages
- Document company drawings, external vendor drawings and supporting documents
- After additional training, the position will assist other Engineering Techs to liaison between engineering and field personnel who construct or maintain company facilities and to:
- Create and publish new Issued for Construction drawing packages.
- Gather technical information and up-to-date drawings for projects.
- Create new 3D material coded parts for electrical substation models.
- Use the Autodesk Vault 3D parts library to create 3D substation models.
- Generate drawings based on one-line and substation standards drawings.


- Associate's Degree in CAD or related Engineering Design Technology
- Strong AutoCAD skills, 2D and 3D modeling
- General Electrical design experience and knowledge, especially of transmission/distribution systems
- Project Management related skills and experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong MS Office skills, MS Visio experience is highly desired
