Chairing the Delegated Vendor Oversight Committee (DVOC)
Vendor oversight representation and support for external regulatory audits and accreditation efforts

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Sr. Compliance Vendor Oversight Consultant oversees contracted vendor’s compliance consistent with Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements, National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), Office of Inspector General (OIG) guidance for an effective compliance program and applicable State requirements. The incumbent is accountable for coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet program objectives. The incumbent is responsible for incorporating processes and internal regulations to ensure compliance standards within the organization.

Communication and Training - 10%
Provide routine delegation oversight reports to the VP of Compliance for delivery to senior management.
Develop and administer communication plan to notify appropriate first tier entities of required training, Medica’s code of conduct and compliance reporting protocols upon contracting and annually thereafter

Sanction Screening – 10%
Oversight of decentralized preclusion and exclusion screening process
Provide investigative support for potential sanction matches to business areas
Provide routine report of screening controls to Internal Audit

MDH Audit Project - 5%
Support the compliance lead during the Medica-wide audit of the MN Department of Health (MDH)/ Department of Human Services (DHS) Triennial Quality Assessment. Collaborate with identified delegates to collect all documentation required to support a successful audit
Work with delegate leads post audit to address audit findings, gaps, and appropriate remediation actions.
Collaborate with delegates to develop corrective action plan (CAP) that meets MDH/DHS approval.
Manage delegate CAPs for completeness, accuracy and complete evidence.

2021 Medicaid RFP Project- 5%
Collaborate with Medica partners on 2021 Medicaid RFP projects
Provide vendor oversight program description and supporting documentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education level required to qualify for the position: Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of health care experience
Minimum years’ experience required: 7+ years

Specific types of experience or skills required:
Advanced leadership skills
Minimum of five years of experience with external regulatory audits and accreditation entities
Knowledge of health care industry/products/benefits
Experience in risk analysis, auditing and monitoring
Knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to Medicaid programs
Project management and process improvement methodologies experience
Problem-solving capabilities and in-depth knowledge and experience in operations
Understanding of regulatory environment and compliance program guidelines
Prior experience with using Compliance 360 would be helpful but not required

The Correspondence Coordinator, will work directly with the clinical team to ensure written correspondence is accurately transcribed and composed using member friendly rationale and terminology.

The Correspondence Coordinator uses knowledge of product information, Utilization Management processes and policies to accurately assist with potential provider and member questions. This position requires that the individual be able to apply excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpret and summarize medical language, and prioritize the responsibilities to meet regulatory turnaround time on a daily basis.

Process Initiation and Administration
Prioritize daily volume of work based on regulatory guidelines
Utilize department policies and procedures to ensure accuracy when processing correspondence requests
Review correspondence requests for appropriateness against outlined requirements.
Interpret, transcribe and summarize clinical rationale using member friendly terminology to insert within letter templates
Accurately chose appropriate letter template based on product
Provide written correspondence notifications within regulatory guidelines
Provide verbal notifications within regulatory guidelines
Ensure all interactions are documented in working system
Collaborates with clinical team on complex cases
Provides overview of review process and expected turnaround time information to providers and members

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education level required to qualify for the position: Associates Degree
